Released today on Spinnin' Records, Swedish duo TV Noise puts a 2012 spin on Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano's 2011 rework of Tiësto's 1999 classic "Lethal Industry," which in turn samples Alec Empire of Atari Teenage Riot's 1992 "SuEcide." Got that? Good.
Whereas the original is abandoned warehouse-ready, gritty and pulsating, the Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano rework has a festival-friendly awareness built in. The gradual build of the original has been replaced by one more insistent, and the payoff "drop" is more immediate and fist-pumping.
In this respect, the TV Noise remix feels like it would be right at home in a darkened converted-to-EDM venue; the speakers blaring the honey-coated chainsaws and melodic warping synths while the DJ leads the crowd in unspecified hand motions from the near proximity of the booth. Staying true to the instantly recognizable riff, this song seems ideal to coerce the sweaty and inebriated crowd into increasingly frenetic dance moves before the DJ reaches down and makes a minute tweak to send the mass into overdrive.
