Tiga - "Plush" | New EP

Tiga album art for Plush out on DIfferent Recordings

If you do not follow Tiga (not to be confused with Tyga) too closely, you are not only missing out on some masterfully crafted productions, but some hilariously insightful Tweets as well. His intellect and ironic wit have been reflected in the lyrics of many of his tracks and he has been producing electronic anthems since before computers could essentially do it themselves. He sings, produces, podcasts, runs his own label, and DJs the club circuit. Needless to say, he is an electronic force to be reckoned with.

His latest single, a co-production with Matthew Dear, “Plush” was released yesterday via Different Recordings and features catchy lyrics reminiscent of his earlier work. He croons over a down-tempo groove and adds unique elements that only Tiga could pull off, including a section where the lyrics are played backwards. Altogether, the layers contribute to the seductive mystery of the entire track.

I could not be more pleased that Tiga is making his comeback to the electronic music world. Hopefully it forecasts his return to the US festival scene which, until recently, he had been MIA. Also on the EP is a remix by the infamous remixer and production master Jacques Lu Cont, who has been contacted to do remixes for Coldplay, Depeche Mode, The Killers, Boys Noize and more. Lu Cont slightly ups the tempo to create an instant dancefloor classic.
