BBC1's DJ Zane Lowe is well known for spinning a tight mix of all that lights the underground ablaze. He defines himself, however, through a weekly selection of the "Hottest Record" in the world. These records tend to be rooted in dance music, but they can also extends into hip-hop and indie rock. With 2013 fast approuching, Lowe has nominated his top 100 hottest records on 2012 - but he needs your help to pick the best of the best!
EDM superstars such as Nero, Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia and Sub Focus all took their rightful place on Lowe's list, but a number of breakthrough artists also made the cut. The seductive bass of Disclosure won them a nomination for "Control;" Koan Sound's glitch-hopification of "80's Fitness" landed them a nod; and the infusion of intense emotion into smooth dub tones granted Jakwob's "Blinding" a place among megahits.
To make your voice heard, head to Zane Lowe's BBC1 Page and choose your "Hottest Record of 2012" from the 100 nominees. Just make sure to take your time, because every song on the list is well worth a listen. The number one choice will be revealed via Lowe's radio show on Decemeber 20th.
